Beijing |
Beijing, capital of the People's Republic of China, is the nation's political, economic and cultural centers as well as a hub of transportation and international exchanges.
Beijing is situated in the northeastern part of China at an elevation of 43.5m above sea level. The climate in Beijing is of the continental type, with cold and dry winters and hot summers. Xi'an |
Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province with a 3,000-year history, was known as "Chang An" in ancient times. For 1,062 years the city had been capital for 13 dynasties, and a total of 73 emperors had ruled China there. During the Middle Ages, Xi'an was one of the biggest cities in the world and a center of international trade. The famous Silk Road started here, traversed the Middle East, and ended at the Mediterranean. The bustling metropolis was host to thousands of foreign envoys, students, monks, and merchants, who all converged on the city from Southeast Asia and beyond.
Xi'an is famous throughout the world for its archaeological treasures and rich cultural heritage. The mausoleum of Qinshihuang and his mighty army of terracotta warriors and horses are world-famous attractions. The other scenes and sights include Banpo Village Ruins, Greater and Lesser Wild-Goose Pagodas, Bell tower and Drum Tower, City Wall, Famen Temple, Shaanxi History Museum, Xi'an Stele Forest, and Grand Mosque. Kunming |
Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, is in southeast Yunnan and is the political, economic, and cultural center of the province as well as a hub of communications. Its sea level is around 1890 meters high with the area totally more than 20 thousands square kilometers. The three directions of east, west and north are around by hills in Kunming, it is facing the green and beautiful "Dian Chi" lake at the south., forming from the better natural space closing by the mountains and waters. These mountains block the cold air from the north in the winter, and the warm air from Indian Ocean flow in Kunming in the summer. So it makes not cold and not hot all year around with a well-known pretty name of " Spring City". Its temperature aversely is 14.7 C¡ã in a year. Under a blue sky occasionally dotted with white clouds, and with its elegant plum branches, red camellias, white magnolias, and yellow primroses, Kunming is truly a delightful tourist attraction in all seasons.
